Väinö Kalajärvi 35 received 4 stars and a school rating of 8.5 in Erälehti’s evaluation in January 2024. It earned praise for the easily removable container (pötön) inside the backpack, portability and ample storage space for accessories as well. Väinö Kalajärvi is an excellent tool for winter fishermen. It combines a traditional ice boat and a backpack. The backpack is made of filmy 600D polyester. Inside the backpack is a plastic fish dish with a lid that you can sit on. It is convenient to drop the caught fish into the fish container during fishing from the opening on top of it. The backpack has a reinforced waterproof base. The shoulder straps of the backpack are padded and 7cm wide. There are two smaller pockets on the side of the backpack, where you can conveniently put a thermos bottle. There are places outside the pocket, e.g. for rods. On the other side, there is a zippered pocket under the protective flap, e.g. for morres and ice creams. A larger pocket in the front for storing snacks, for example.
